Door Duty

Terms of use

Last updated 4 November 2026

These terms apply when you install Door Duty on a Wix site, or use a Door Duty link to check guests in. Door Duty is run by Adam Scott Rowe ("we"). Questions: support@doorduty.app.

1. The service

Door Duty lets the owner of a Wix site (the "organiser") check guests in to Wix Events using volunteers' phones: links with a PIN, QR scanning, name search, undo, working without signal, walk-up sales through Wix, and event reports. The features on each plan are described on the pricing page and in the app.

Door Duty needs Wix Events, and works with the events, tickets and guests already in it. Wix's own terms apply to your Wix site and to Wix Events.

2. Plans and payment

3. Your responsibilities as an organiser

4. Volunteers

If you check guests in with a Door Duty link, you're acting for the organiser. Use the guest list only for checking people in at that event, and don't copy it or share it.

5. Data

Guest and check-in data belongs to the organiser. We handle it only to run Door Duty for them, as our privacy policy describes, and delete it on the schedule set out there.

6. Availability

We work hard to keep Door Duty running and it's built to keep checking people in without signal, but we can't promise it will never be interrupted. Phones, networks, Wix and our hosting can all fail. For an important event, keep a fallback: the guest list in your Wix dashboard, or a printed list.

7. Liability

Door Duty is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost ticket sales or a delayed event, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us for Door Duty in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

8. Ending

You can stop using Door Duty at any time by uninstalling it from your Wix site. We may suspend a site that breaks these terms, and will tell you why where we can. If we ever close Door Duty, we'll give organisers at least 30 days' notice and refund unused passes and the unused part of a yearly plan.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and tell organisers in the Door Duty dashboard before a change that affects them takes effect.

10. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can settle any dispute.
